What our glazing shop drawings include
Glazing is one of the trades where small drafting errors become expensive: glass is ordered to size months ahead, frames are cut to length, and anchors must line up with the structure and slab edges. Our glazing drafters work from the system supplier's (for example Kawneer, YKK AP, Schüco, Reynaers, Capral) profile libraries, so every section reflects real extrusions.
Submittals show elevations with mullion and transom layout, typical and special sections, stack joints, perimeter conditions with sealant and flashing, and anchor details. After approval, we prepare fabrication drawings: cut lists, machining details and glass and panel schedules with sizes and specifications.
Structural checks of mullions and anchors are carried out by your façade engineer; we incorporate their results. Glazing is often part of a wider submittal package – see shop drawing services and BIM coordination.

|---|---|
| USA | AAMA guidelines, ASTM E1300 glass thickness determination, ASCE 7 wind loads (by engineer), ADA hardware at entrances |
| UK | CWCT Standard for Systemised Building Envelopes, BS 6262 glazing for buildings, Approved Document K safety glazing |
| Canada | CSA A440 / NAFS window standards, CAN/CGSB-12.20 glass design, NBC 2020 Part 5 environmental separation |
| Australia | AS 1288 glass selection and installation, AS 2047 windows and external glazed doors, AS 1170.2 wind actions (by engineer) |
How our glazing shop drawings process works
- 1Send your files
Upload sketches, PDFs, markups, photos, scans or a model through the quote form. Tell us the standard (US, UK, Canada or Australia) and the deadline.
- 2Fixed quote in hours
We review the scope and reply with a fixed price, the deliverables list and a delivery date. Nothing starts until you approve it.
- 3Drafting & modeling
Your project is drawn in AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, SolidWorks or the software you use, on your title block, layers and templates.
- 4QA check
A second drafter checks dimensions, annotations, layer standards, sheet numbering and cross-references against your input before anything is sent.
- 5Delivery & revisions
You receive native files plus PDFs. Comments come back as markups and we revise them quickly until the set matches the brief.
Turnaround and pricing
Submittals for a storefront package typically take 4–7 business days; curtain wall packages are planned by elevation. Every job is priced as a fixed quote after we review your files, so you know the cost and the delivery date before work starts. See how our pricing works, or send your files through the quote form for a quick estimate.
